Terms of use

Effective 8 October 2026. By using the Sajadah app or the sajadah.org website, you agree to these terms.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content. Sajadah has zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users in any area that contains user-generated content, including group khatam names. You can report content, and we act on reports within 24 hours.

The service

Sajadah is a free Muslim app for prayer times, the Qur'an, du'a and dhikr, learning to recite, worship guides, and group khatam. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

Prayer times and religious content

Prayer times are calculated from the sun's position using the method shown in the app. We work hard to make them accurate, but they can differ from your local masjid's timetable, which may follow a particular authority or adjustments. When in doubt, follow your local masjid and authorities.

The Qur'an text, translations, du'as, and guides come from widely recognised sources credited in the app. They are there to support worship and learning, not to replace guidance from scholars.

Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, keep access to it secure. You can delete your account at any time from the app, as described in the privacy policy.

User content and conduct

Areas with user-generated content include group khatam names and intentions, the names written for each juz, and du'a requests. You are responsible for what you write. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You must not post:

  • hate speech, harassment, threats, or bullying of anyone;
  • sexual, obscene, or graphically violent content;
  • content that insults religion, the Qur'an, the prophets, or other people's beliefs;
  • defamation, impersonation, or other people's personal information;
  • spam, advertising, harmful links, or anything unlawful.

Reporting and moderation

  • How to report: use the Report button on a group khatam screen (or on a du'a request), or email [email protected] with the group code and details.
  • Response time: we review every report and act on it within 24 hours.
  • What we do: we remove content that breaks these rules, and we eject and block users who post objectionable content or behave abusively.
  • Group creators can also clear a juz that carries an objectionable name, or delete their group.

Permission to use your content

What you write stays yours. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store it and show it to other users as needed for the feature to work, for example showing your name on the juz you took.

Intellectual property

Sajadah's design, code, and brand belong to us. The Qur'an text, translations, recitation audio, and other third-party content belong to their respective owners and are used under their terms.

Fair use

Don't misuse the service. For example, don't try to access other users' data, disrupt our servers, create groups in bulk by automated means, or reverse-engineer the app for those purposes.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

Sajadah is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses arising from use of the app, including from differences in prayer times or outages of third-party services.

Termination

We may limit or end access for anyone who breaks these terms. You may stop using Sajadah and delete your account at any time.

App Store

If you downloaded Sajadah from Apple's App Store, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them. Your use is also subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and, for Google Play, Google Play's terms.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms, and the date above will change. Questions or reports: [email protected].
