Common questions
Why are my prayer times different from my local masjid?
Masjids follow different authorities, and the authority decides when Fajr and Isha begin. Sajadah shows the method it uses and why: tap the ⓘ under the timetable to see the basis of the calculation, and change the method or add minute adjustments in the prayer settings.
Do prayer times need the internet?
No. Prayer times are calculated on your phone from the sun's position, so they work without a signal. The internet is only needed for things like recitation audio, city search, or group khatam.
The adhan reminder doesn't sound.
Make sure notifications are allowed for Sajadah and that silent or Focus modes aren't blocking them. On Android, also allow alarms and turn off battery optimisation for Sajadah, because some phones stop apps in the background.
How do I join a group khatam?
Open the invite link from your friend, pick an open juz, and write your name. You can do this in the app or straight from your browser. In the app, you can also choose Join with a code.
How do I remove an inappropriate name or group?
A group's creator can clear a juz or delete the group. Anyone can tap Report on the group screen, or email the group code to [email protected]. We act on reports within 24 hours.
Do I need an account?
No. You only need an account if you want to sync your progress to another device.
How do I delete my account and data?
In the app, go to Profile → Account (tap your name) → Delete account. To remove other data, such as group khatams, email us. The details are in the privacy policy.
Why can the website's times differ by a minute from the app?
This website shows the official timetables of Kemenag RI and JAKIM for each regency, city or zone, copied exactly as published. The app calculates times for exactly where you stand, including elevation, so it can differ slightly. We compare the two, and they are within a minute of each other.
Where do the Qur'an text, translations and du'a on this site come from?
The Arabic text is from Quran.com (Uthmani script, Hafs), the translations from Saheeh International and Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs, and the du'a from Fortress of the Muslim. Every source, its licence, and how we check it are on our Sources page. If you find a mistake, please tell us.
When will Sajadah be on the App Store and Google Play?
Soon, insha'Allah. This page will be updated with download links as soon as they're available.
